"Which glue should I use to attach my SuperMagnets?" This is definitely one of the most common questions we get from our customers. We didn't have an acceptable answer for the longest time, until we finally started to conduct some tests. Now we can not only give you a competent answer, but we can offer you the best glue ourselves. We recommend the following with full conviction: use UHU plus endfest 300 for gluing SuperMagnets!
Materials: metal, glass, porcelain, ceramic, wood, marble, stone, concrete, thermoset, fibreglass plastics, rigid PVC, rubber, foam synthetics, e.g. styrofoam.
Please note: This glue is not suitable for most plastics. Use:
- The surface must be dry and free from dust and grease.
- Roughen any smooth surfaces prior to gluing.
- Mix the binder and hardener (ratio of 1:1).
- Apply the glue to one item only. If working with rough surfaces, apply glue to both items. Lay the items against each other without pressing.
- Let dry for 2 hours at room temperature.
Curing: The curing time is dependent upon temperature, as the final strength can be increased by warming the items:
| Tempe- rature | Curing | Strength in N/cm² |
| 20 °C | 12 hrs | 1200 |
| 40 °C | 3 hrs | 1800 |
| 70 °C | 45 min | 2000 |
| 100 °C * | 10 min | 2500 |
| 180 °C * | 5 min | 3000 |
* Please note that most of our neodymium magnets lose a portion of their magnetism at temperatures of > 80 °C, so these curing temperatures therefore are out of the question.
Follow the safety tips on the package.

Here are a few special tips regarding gluing the magnets:
1) Before gluing the magnets, de-grease with methylated spirits or - even better - roughen the surfaces with sandpaper (included in delivery!).
2) Whenever possible: Use enough glue so that it "squirts" out the sides and glues the sides of the magnets in place, not just the surface. In this case, roughen the sides with sandpaper in advance, as well.
3) Whenever possible, countersink the magnets into the drill holes so that the glue can stick on all sides.
A piece of sandpaper to roughen the magnet surfaces is included in delivery.

The UHU plus endfest 300 fulfilled all the requirements of our tests wonderfully. We glued SuperMagnets to metal, glass, porcelain, ceramic, wood, cardboard, stones and concrete. And not only that: We subjected the objects to temperature extremes and tormented them until the cows came home, let them fall to the ground and slam together with other magnets. Not one of these connections came unglued by any of these tests! We can only recommend this glue with the strongest convictions.
