Description

These pot magnets have a stem with an external screw thread. You can slide the stem, for instance, through a hole and fasten it with a nut.

Please note: The full adhesive force is achieved when the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth and of sufficient thickness and when the pot magnet makes direct and full flush contact. Pot magnets already lose much of their adhesive force at a distance of only half a millimetre to the ferromagnetic surface. This characteristic is more pronounced in pot magnets than in other ferrite and neodymium magnets. You can find additional fascinating information on our FAQ page about pot magnet features.

The steel pot increases the adhesive force of the embedded disc magnet sixfold. The counter pole on the back is "redirected" to the front by the steel pot, so the circular contact surface of the steel pot is actually the magnetic counter pole to the disc magnet. This magnetic "short circuit", without air between the two poles, increases the adhesive force substantially.
This elevated adhesive force can only be reached through a direct contact with the counterpart. Even a small distance of a few millimetres will cause the magnetic attraction to cease.
The answer to why you can arrange pot magnets only side by side can be found under our FAQ.

The structure of pot magnets

Pot magnets have a neodymium or ferrite magnet built into a steel pot. When it comes into direct contact with a surface, its force will be focused on the holding surface as a result. This increases the adhesive force of the magnet. For more information, please refer to our FAQ page on the characteristics of pot magnets.
In 2011 the city of Zurich offered an interesting tour through the waste cogeneration plant "Hagenholz" in the trendy fifth district. To start off, the visitors met at a so-called "rendezvous cube".
Nine super-magnetic GTN-20 hold together a cube wall - flexible and sturdy.
