Please note: This rod magnet is diametrically magnetised. This means that these magnets will not join end-to-end lengthwise, but rather side-by-side, like fish fingers. This allows for interesting experiments but is rather uncommon in everyday life.
A further unusual feature of this magnet is the missing coating. Normally, neodymium magnets are coated. This magnet, due to its missing coating, will stain slightly and oxidise when exposed to air. You can avoid the latter by installing the rod magnet in a way that is air and watertight. Furthermore, this is the only rod magnet that can withstand temperatures of up to 150 °C.
