You can use a magnetic photo rope (or photo display wire) to hang your favourite photos, postcards, birth announcements, etc. All of our photo ropes (except for FL-09) come with strong neodymium magnets, some even include fridge magnets with animal or heart motifs. If this is not fancy enough for you: Most of our colourful fridge magnets can be used for hanging photo displays.

Many photo ropes available at supermagnete include a steel weight and are hung vertically. Items FL-04, FL-05 and FL-06, however, have loops and are usually hung horizontally with two nails. But, of course, you can also come up with other, more unusual, ways to hang them, such as in a Z-shape, for example.

How to attach the photo rope

The magnetic photo display wires are hung on the wall using nails and the loops at the ends. Attach the photo ropes to curtain rods or empty walls and ceilings in your hallway, sitting room or bedroom. To mount the hanging photo display without drilling any holes, utilise metal surfaces such as door frames, bannisters, columns or other ferromagnetic surfaces as they offer an optimal adhesion surface for magnetic hooks made of neodymium.

Design ideas with photo ropes

A photo rope that hangs by itself on the wall can look a little lost. The following design ideas will help you showcase your magnetic photo display wire to perfection:
  • Hang three to four magnetic photo display wires next to each other. This distributes the pictures better. The magnetic ropes can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
  • Hide the nails under cut out wooden discs to make it look as if the magnetic rope is wedged between the wall and the wood.
  • Find a piece of driftwood and attach the magnetic photo display wire to it. To keep the hanging photo display from moving, attach a second piece of driftwood at the bottom of the photo rope to act as additional weight.
  • Wrap a thin clothes hanger in yarn or embellish it with rhinestones, for example. Then attach your magnetic photo display wire to the hanger. Truly an eye-catching feature!
